About us

One of the hardest hitting tracks in the country. Warton Stock Car Club is enjoying a successful period of resurgence, with ever increasing numbers across all formulas. The club is a members club made up of a committee that are dedicated to the club and moving the club forward. It is also the only short oval track in Lancashire.

There is something for everyone from the ministox with drivers ages 11-16, Senior Minis for abit more speed and a good class to learn a race craft, then there is the monsters of the Stock Cars, any engine, ranging from 2 Litres to big V8’s and finally the crowd favourites the hard hitting, action packed Bangers. Adults, ladies and Junior classes are all featured throughout the season.

The family friendly track

Warton Stock Car Club prides itself on providing a fun and friendly atmosphere for all the family. Where families of all sizes and children of all ages can enjoy real racing up close and personal.

Trackside Parking

Warton is one of only a handful of tracks in the country that offers trackside parking. With the nature of how the track is set out, trackside can often be one of the best views to see all the action on the track. Spaces are limited though so you may need to get to a meeting early.

Kid’s Go FREE!

That’s right you read right, it’s not often in this day and age that you can see the word FREE but all children under 10 go in free. There is plenty of goodies to keep them occupied if the racing isn’t enough, with sweets, drinks, hats, model cars, replica flags and clothing all available from our Track Shop.

Disabled Parking

Another asset to Warton is we have superb trackside disabled parking again offering a superb view of the whole track so spectators won’t miss a thing. A disabled toilet with baby changing facility is also situated next to the Disabled Parking.

Over 50 Years of Oval Racing

April 1972 Easter Sunday, the first cars stepped on to track for the very first time. With a track forged out of an abandoned quarry, with some tyres thrown round the outside to mark out a track, West End Stock Car Club was born! The middle of the track being a giant rock as can be seen in the photo. The track by the sea has come a long way over the last 50 years…

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you thinking of planning a visit to Warton Stock Car Club, here we have some FAQ’s that may help you out before you arrive.

  • What time does racing start?

Racing starts about 12 noon, but we advise people to arrive before 11:30am so you can be settled and not miss a single race. If your wanting to get trackside parking its recommended to arrive even earlier.

  • Is there Track Side Parking?

Yes, but its limited, first come first served. Theres no extra charge for trackside, or any parking. These spots fill up quick on our busier meetings, so arriving early is strongley advised to avoid disappointment.

  • Is There a Disabled Parking Area?

Yes, again its limited and its first come first served. It looks over the track and allows a good view of racing, even when still sat in the car.

  • Is there seating?

No, most people bring camping chairs to sit on. Though many spectators just move around the site to watch the racing from different angles.

  • Are people allowed in the pit area and is there a charge?

Yes spectators are allowed in the Pit Area, there is no charge, but we remined people that there are moving cars, tractors and repair work going on all the time so please be extra careful.

  • How long does racing last?

We hold, often, over twenty plus races during a race day. Our last race, the Banger Destruction Derby, is worth staying to watch. Racing normally finishes between 5pm or 6 pm, some times even earlier.

  • Can I bring my dog to the racing?

Yes, but its not for all dogs. It can be quite dusty, noisy and a long day. Keep your dog on a lead at all times. Bring drinking water and some shade for it on a sunny day.

  • Is there catering facilities?

We have two catering vans on site at all our meetings, selling hot food and drinks. On the more pleasant meetings we also have an Ice Cream van. We also have our own track shop which selling cold drinks, sweets, crisps and lots of other goodies.

  • Do you accept cash or card?

We can accept both. Admission can be purchased using both cash or card on the day. Our track shop also accepts cash and card payments. However not all of our catering vans accept card, so it maybe safer to bring a little cash with you just incase.

It was my first time there as my daughter started racing there a few months ago. The best day out iv had in ages! Everyone is friendly. There’s a burger bar, club shop, and toilets. Go prepared, warm clothing, just in case. There are some great races to watch from kids to adults. Very well organised and the club make sure everyone is safe and the drivers are well looked after. It was a really great day out and not too far from home, only an hours drive. Twelve pound entry for adults, which is a fair price , you won’t be disappointed. Didn’t take the dog as I was unsure if we were allowed but will take her next time. Great day out for families and friends.

Fantastic day out for all ages! Make sure you take plenty of cash…cards not accepted. Well organised event with snacks, drinks and ice creams available…or take your own! For the younger ones ear defenders are recommended (can get noisy) and available to hire from a hut on site. Make sure you take something to sit on as seating areas are mainly rocky and fill up quickly. Pictures are from Caravan Carnage day last meet of the season 2017…well worth a watch!!
